What is the best way to promote root growth
Default What is the best way to promote root growth

I have a NOID Den that is not doing well. There are only 2 spikes, one old spike that flowered and a newer one that is only about 1" tall and done growing. I noticed the roots are short and few. I feel that my only hope to save it would be to get some new root growth and try to get a new stronger spike. Please help

if your plant is in ill health, it shouldnt be allowed to use its last remaining strength creating blooming spikes.....note that anytime a plant feels itself in severe trouble it will TRY to reproduce..ie bloom....but in the best interests of reviving your plant, you shouldnt let it do so...cut the old spike off, it serves no purpose.....it will make new roots when it makes a new growth, so you want to let it make new growth....i would think you might be overwatering your plant...without pictures it is hard to tell...so cut back on the watering some, and let it really dry out between waterings...hopefully that will solve your problem...
