Help ...my Den is not doing well
Default Help ...my Den is not doing well

I saved a Den a little while ago and it only has one old cane and one new one. The old one is lookin a little worn and the new one is really small and has not grown at all in the past month and a half. I cut all the bad roots and was considering mounting it but I'm not sure if its a good idea right now. Would mounting it be too much shock for the plant? Whats the best way to save it?

Dends, like all orchids have growing and resting cycles. Though some can potentially bloom any time of year, they typically start growing roots and psbulbs beginning in springtime. Your Dend. is most probably going through it's rest cycle so, no...now is not the time to do anything with it. If you want to repot or mount it, wait until new roots begin growing. While they're resting, they don't need as much water and depending on what kind of Dend. this is, it may need more than a slight rest or none at all. Should have asked first....what kind of Dend is this?

unfortunately its a NOID so i have no idea what kind. I saved my 3 Dens from my mom who purchased them all at the same time from the same supplier and they all came with the same care instructions. Aside from the flower colour they all look the exact same. 1st one is in the process of growing a new cane and the 2nd has just finished growing a new cane, the roots are growing like crazy on the others but this one is just not doing anything. When i got this one is was in much worse shape than the others and all but 1 cane died, it shot up a new cane but it did not grow too big. So now i have a mature cane that flowered at some point and this tiny little baby cane
