I have a small Den Nobile noid keiki which is about 2 1/2 years old (has been potted up once, maybe a year and a half ago).
It has just started a new growth. Should I go ahead and re-pot now? Was planning to re-pot in the spring but don't know if it would be better to do it now.
Also - how and when should I stake new growth to get it to grow straight?
While I don't generally grow Dendros, I do repot just about any time of year. If your plant is starting new growth, now is the time. You (in principle) want the new roots which follow the new growths to grow into the new medium. You can stake or brace the plant when you repot.
Hi White Rabbit, I am by no means an expert...darned dens do not like me. But I know this, dens prefer to be potbound. Others will chime in I'm sure. Good luck
bellinigirl - I haven't had much success with dens either - killed the mother of this keiki
but so far the keiki has been doing well - even if it can go back into same sized pot it does need fresh potting mix
ross - thanks - will go ahead and re-pot this baby sooner than later then!
