I was thinking about mounting or hanging my dendros. I see lots of ppl put them in trees or hang them on fences, is this something they like?

hey. i got the mounting bug. its awesome to see how much faster dendrobiums (and epyphitic orchids in general) grow mounted. you have to be able to at least mist them daily though. thats one of the downsides. but other than that its awesome. other than the flowers the roots are second most interesting part of the plants (in my opinion) and you will see them crawl all over the mount you put it on. very rewarding. have you mounted orchids before?

I've got lots of my dendros mounted. And they love it!! One of them is in Spike right now
All my babies LOVE to be mounted! They like to grab that wood and run, run!
Oh, and mounted my Dendros, UP.

The plant will pretty much let you know which direction they want to go. One of the things you may want to keep in mind is that mounted plants will tend to need more water than their potted counterparts.

Good luck and don't forget the share some pictures of your projects!!
