The Aussie hybrid that I have used as my avatar has started flowering again... this is one of my favourite of the bunch (if you couldn't tell!). It has a very subtle honey fragrance, not too flowery, just nice and sweet!

Here is it just opening:

Then a few days later when the flowers started to open fully (and the scent became evident):

And even closer:

I didn't realize that your avatar was a Den! I had no clue what it was. Does this hybrid have a name?

Hi Camille, Thanks! Unfortunately, it doesn't have a name, as I bought it at my local garden centre, not from an orchid nursery. But I fell in love with it and couldn't resist!

It also has the prettiest thick canes! Really nice plant habit:

Shannon, I was under the understanding you were growing your plants indoors. Where do you have space for so many plants? Just curious.

The close up is fabulous! Is that diamond dust texture in the flower, too?

Anywhere and everywhere I can find a place the suits the requirements of the plant, truthfully.

All of the windows that don't have radiators underneath them have orchids in them, and the ones that need (or will tolerate) a cool dry rest period in winter get put on the unheated side porch - that's about 18 feet of shelf space alone. That's the coolest place in the house during the winter (and also probably the warmest place in the summer, as it is just a row of windows that face the South-West). Right now, the Neos and Dens are out there - with a couple of other cool growing types like Milts.

These Aussie Dens spent the summer outside being benignly neglected - and they loved it! Some probably got too much light (all the new growths had very red leaves) so I will rethink where I put them next summer.

The Pleuros are in another South facing window where the temps don't vary much between summer and winter. The mottled leaf Paphs are in a North facing window in the dining room, with Phrags in a West facing window of the same room. Masdies are in the kitchen window, as they seem to prefer it there for some reason - I tried putting them in the same place as the other Pleurothallids, but they told me they didn't really like it, as new growths kept dying off.

There is one place left in the house - a North facing set of french doors (that we hardly ever use) that could be used in conjunction with a plant cart - but I haven't needed it yet.

I've just taken 'window sill' growing and really done that to the max!

Yes!! Isn't it pretty?! Its only really apparent if you look for it, not from a distance, but that combined with their pretty open shape - and that divine smell of honey - really knocks me out!

Thanks, everyone, for looking!

I finally had a few minutes to get a full shot of my favourite Aussie Den - just look at those flowers! They smell wonderful!!

And the sibling to the first one I posted in this thread has finally opened. This cross is Dendrobium (Ellewong x Zip) x (Gillian Leaney x Tweed)

And my shortest one has just started opening its buds. The canes on this plant stay less than 4 inches tall - the plant is now twice as wide as it is high...

Beautiful, Shannan. Love the vibrant purple tips.

Your windows must be huge and completely "unhindered" for you to be able to grow all those plants! Nice job!
