Default Den. Medy Stripe ~ My first Florida Orchid.

Here are a couple of photos of my Den. Medy Stripe, which is the first orchid I bought when I moved to Florida about 3 1/4 years ago.

I have been growing chids for a bit longer than that, but this is my first Florida chid. I actually almost killed it twice, but after its last close call, it was happy enough to put out 7 spikes! Boy was I surprised.

Really nice photos and congrats on the flowers. I don't do Dendros, they don't like me (except for a few type 1 or 2 decididuous ones.)

Wow! For a plant that you nearly killed twice, it sure looks happy! Great growing, it's gorgeous.

Thanks everyone!

Jenn,

My secrets for dendrobs...if that's what you want to call them...is that I grow them in 50-50 charcoal and lava rock, and make sure they dry between waterings, just like my cattleyas. that's it in a nutshell.
