Laura, the blooms are incredible on this. I love all the Dend. latourias, they're probably my all time favorites. I've been eyeing this and the Dend finisterrae that I want to buy and I'm now waiting for the atroviolacea to be delivered...any day now...can't wait.

Do you keep this wetter than other Dends, do you know? How tall is yours?

Great growing and enjoy!!

Sandy I don't let the alexandrae, finisterrae and the primary hybrid I have out of atroviolacea dry out. I also grow them in a more moisture retaining mix of CHC with additives.

During the summer they get watered about every five days and during the winter, less.

The latouria tribe is my favorite. The only nobile type I have were given to me - I would never purchase one but I can't give away a gift :>)

Hmmm, CHC. I just might have to make a trip to my supply store then, Brooke. I'm running low on CHC. I take my growing tips from only great growers.

Sorry Laura.

Spectabile is also in the Latouria section. That's probably why in looks similar. The Latourias are my favorites followed by Formosaes. My atroviolaceum is in full bloom. I need to take a picture. It's really something. 8 spikes with 5 new ones on the way. This is definitely a more bang for your buck orchid.
