Dendrobium cuthbertsonii
Dendrobium cuthbertsonii is a cool growing species that I picked up from Ecuagenera at the SEPOS show at Longwood gardens in March. This is the first time it has bloomed

I absolutely adore these Dendrobiums! One of my top faves. Great job blooming these! Look at all those flowers! And the cool thing is that the blooms last for months and months!
I think I am going to have to have one of these in every available hue! LOL

I agree, this is also one of my all time favorites, even though I don't have one! I just don't know if I can give it temps as cool as it likes. How do you grow it?

I grow mine on the top shelf under T5 lights (about 12" down from the two light fixtures), in a plastic covered grow rack. It's downstairs where it stays coolest.
These like quite bright light but cool to intermediate temps, good humidity, super good air circulation and seem to like their feet wet but leaves dry.
I've got three. . .but two look EXACTLY alike even though I asked for a purple and a red one. They're both red with an orange "nose".
And I've got one from a trade. . .that hasn't bloomed yet. Think it's going to be red/orange too. LOL
What I really really really want besides one of each color available, are the two toned types!

Another beauty Tom! I love this one too, but I know our summers here are much to hot for it to be happy.

Thank you everyone
I grow this in my basement area under lights. It is where I grow all my intermediate/cool growers. This space has been setupo now for 1 year and everything in this area appears to be happy

Tom,
Do you know what your "normal" high-low temperature range is. I'd love to try them, but i haven't had luck with genuine cool growers. My temps are: summer 85 high to 65 low, winter 80 high to 60 low. What do you think?
