Default Dendrobium fimbriatum var. oculatum

The plant is tall, but is a prodigal bloomer. The best thing is that the old canes continue to bloom year after year together with the new ones. Ah!... I almost forgot... the fragrance these numerous flowers emit is delicious!

Mauro your plant is beautiful! It's been so long since I've seen one in bloom I forgot what it looked like. I do remember it being very fragrant though.

I have a tiny little Keiki of this from a plant my son has. It's been very slow to grow, but this year put up a pretty good baby growth. I'll probably be a very old lady by the time it's big enough to bloom!

In the end, Terri, time doesn't matter at all, you know? The joy we take growing our little babies day after day has no price!!

True enough Mauro! I get excited about every new little development. I know it moves me one step closer to a flower.

Aaaah, my kind of orchid, that takes my breath away.

I had one very similar to yours that became infected with thrips, just a couple of months ago. Before I knew what I was dealing with, it was too late...sniffles.

That plant loves you...what a show it's put on for you!

Enjoy and thanks for the pics.

Your plant is so well grown, Mauro.
Inland species, like this one, seems just grow and seldom bloom under our island climate. I used to have one plant of this species, but because of its poor flowering ability, I gave it to a friend.

Didn't know that the Island climate affected that way this species, Pheli. I live more or less 50 miles away from the Atlantic Ocean and never noticed that behavior.
