that is a den i can really love. i did not know you could grow dens as nice as all you,re cats.

Mauro, since Taiwan is a small island and also because the weather here is greatly affected by the east Asia monsoon system, the summer day and night usually has few temp. change. It is good for us to grow some southeast Asia lowland species, such as most phalaenopsis but not suitable for some inland species. But in central mountainous areas of this island, it is quite easy to bloom Dend. fimbriatum and other similar species.
A friend that lives in highland, about 1000 meters above the sea level in central taiwan, has some of this species that grow on the betel palms. He prefers growing orchids on trees and usually has successful results.

Great plant! Growing Dends on trees is also a very common here in Brazil too, most of times nobile type. This kind of growing produces dense bushes full of flowers in the winter.

This is also a long term favorite of mine. I have had one for 25 years now. As to the Island thing I had been told that the philippine people could not flower it either. Apparently it takes a decided drop in temperature to bloom it. One way of tricking such a plant is to put a bunch of Ice cubes in the pot during a warm spell. Anyway this is what I have heard and it is worth a try,

I love it! Good bloomer and fragrant, who could possibly want more in an orchid? You say it's tall, but how tall is tall? I want to figure out if I have room for one in the future!

I have seen them bloom at 12" tall on the small side, and my 25 year old is about 6' tall. Sorry for using feet and inchs, us stoneage americans are not good at conversion. The governement should just switch us to metric and after 10 years or so we would probably not think anything of it,

Camille, my plant is now 110cm, more or less half the size David Morris' plant.

The flowers are beautiful I love yellow any yellow. I love the frilly edge also.
