Dend. venustum Male
Default Dend. venustum

The species is from Thailand and is seldom grown here in Taiwan. The flower is not large, about 2cm wide and is odorless.

An interesting plant, Pheli. The flowers look almost green with very nice colour in the throat. Are they difficult to grow?

They are easy to grow, Shirley. The species usually begins growing in late spring and blooms in early autumn. After flowering, the leaves turn yellow and then drop away. The dormant phase starts and during this phase, keep the plant dry as the winter care for nobile-type dendrobiums.
During growing phase, you can grow them like cattleyas or phal-type dendrobiums. Anyway, the species is easy to care.
