Den. Enobi Purple 'Splash'
Thought I'd share this photo of this very attractive splash type dendrobium. This is currently blooming in my collection. It is a mericlone that I obtained from a nursery in Waianae, Oahu, Hawaii. The plant has 80% Den. bigibbum in its background. Siblings of this clone were displayed at the last World Orchid Conference in Miami, Florida in January 2008. It was selected as an outstanding dendrobium at the Conference.

THAT is NICE!!! I like that a lot -- makes me consider trying hard cane dens again.

I don't usually like those big Dens, but this one is stunning! I love the flowers. It looks like each one was hand painted. Great growing!

Hawaiian Sunshine,
That is beautiful! Great growing.
It's funny, I was at the WOC last January all week and don't remember seeing this beauty...but then again... What is the name of this dendrob?
You wouldn't happen to remember the name of the nursery you got this from, would you? I feel an urge to obtain coming on...

Thanks for the complimentary comments. This is the second bloom on this plant. This time around the plant has multiple inflorescences (three) and the inflorescences are longer than the last time it bloomed. I got my plant from Orchid Center in Waianae, Hawaii. I believe the nursery has a few others but not many. Even though the 'Splash' is a clone, only a handful retained the splash petal characteristics. The rest came out a solid purple color.
