interesting indeed. that means i may still have a chance... http://www.orchidboard.com/community...ken-plant.html

leaves me wondering - shall it be continued to soak in the bottle (today is day-2) or put it in a pot with moist brick/charcoal mix.... but mine is a young broken cane.

dsim, I would lay that broken cane horizontally in a bed of damp (not wet) sphag, keep it warm, and cover with plastic to keep the humidity up. I bet it will root and send up a new plant for you. It takes awhile though so be patient.
