Default Dend. newbee need some info...

I bought my first Dend about a week ago, and i have a few questions that i hope someone will bee kind to help me with?
Sadly i dont know the name, if someone happens to recognize it, i would be so happy!

I understand theres several kinds of Dend, six types... And i do belive mine is a hard one(?) Is this right?
How do they grow, can i expect new leafs from the top of the old cane where the flower-steem was? Or do they grow new canes like the Oncidium? Do they bloom from the same cane several times, or does it have to grow new canes to re-bloom?
Does it shed old leafs?

I have read the care-sheets, and understand that they need a winter-rest. But do they need the same amount of brigth light all year round?

And last... I repotted the Dend. into S/H five days ago, and soon after the flowers wiltered and some leafs turned yellow. To give her back some strenght to recover, i cut the flower-steem. Then i discovered some kind of "node" beside the cut flower-steem. What is this?

Pics of the Dend. just after i got it.

Okay, your plant is going through some transplant shock so that is why the leaves are falling. The node next to the flower stem might be nothing, just wait and see somrtimes these types of dens like to flower right off the same cane multiple times in a year, sometimes they might Keiki after a flowering, you will have to wait and see what develops. Your plant should not loose leaves during the winter because it is evergreen. During the winter dont give it a totaal rest, just reduce watering and stop fertilizer, but give it the same lightr and slightly reduced temps. Depending on the size of the cane and the overall health of the plant this one should bloom off any new growths and may rebloom on the same cane if its healthy enough to not need the stored energy within it. Remember this is not a small plant and it will eventually have canes that may be several feet in height, dont worry though they will reward good culture with multiple spikes per stem and possibly rebloom off old stems. Keep us posted.

A rule of thumb that I live by Lene, is never disturb a blooming orchid. They usually resent it. Even just moving them to a new location is sometimes resented by the orchid. While this is a very pretty orchid, it's not a species orchid and the naming will be difficult. There is an identification forum, that you may find usefull.

Yes, i know.
But i usually repot into S/H soon after bringing it home, as long as theres new roots growing. With this one, the blooms started to wilt after a few days, and then i repotted soon after. I knew it would probably shed the rest of the blooms, but itll bloom again, and will need the rest of its strenght to grow roots and new canes anyway.
Now its been in S/H for about two weeks, and has lost a few leafs. But it seems like it will keep on to the rest, and ive seen several new roots growing.
