Nine months of beautiful blooms for 38 months of care. Who wouldn't like that kind of return?
I would say it paid you back for all your hard work.
I think I shall go out and have a serious talk with my dens.

Thanks everybody

I don't give this chid any special care, gets treated exactly the same as all the others. That being said, in the past few days I'm realizing that this actually has been a true learning experience! I think some of my Dens might be overpotted and I'm going to repot them into smaller pots or baskets. This very large ever-blooming chid is in a 3 inch basket...and happy happy!

Lesson learned: (most) Dendrobiums like to be crowded in their pot

Well, this one lost it's last bloom today...meaning it was in full bloom from July 20, 2008 through June 5, 2009!

While it was losing it's blooms, it put out a huge new growth which is firmly attached to the outer/upper row on it's wood basket

I feel bad about not knowing which vendor I got it from

I had only just begun collecting at that point and found a vendor at Redlands in '05 that had Den seedlings, 5 for $10.00. All I remember is that the word "Jungle" was in their name
