Hi Sue - I have Den. Pixie Charm, and now I know what one of it's parents look like - Unicum! Mine is not so orange but yellow w/pink veining. Guess they are all happy, especially when blooming.

Don - Awesome hybrid - Congrats on it's award
Dendrobium Pixie Charm has the following species -
Dendrobium unicum 62.5%
Dendro heterocarpum 25% - IOSPE PHOTOS
Dendro moniliforme 12.5% - IOSPE PHOTOS
It was an easy lineage so I charted it up for you ..

Thanks Dorothy for the information, very interesting. I got the orchid a couple of years ago from Parkside Orchids and the tag said: Den. Pixie Charm (Yellow Chinsai x unicum) I wasn't trying to up-stage the orange Unicum but it was the only picture I had. I won a blue ribbon in April from the Tallahassee Annual Show.

Sue, Your unicum is gorgeous! I am so impressed with some of these Dens - especially when I find that they do so well in both your climate and mine! We've both got really great bloom out of this one and Den. tetragonum - that says a lot for the adaptability of these plants.
Great growing! All of the flowers on the one cane of mine are open now, but I'm still waiting for the flowers on the other cane to start opening. So far all have lasted, so they are in bloom for quite a while.
Here are some photos from last week:
