It really looks natural but you know how that can be. Only way I can be more sure is wait till it blooms a few more times and that should tell me, I figure.

Painted Phal have an opening/wound near the base of the flower stem. That's were they inject the dye.
Sometimes it's still visible. Google it.

I'm afraid your plant is one of these. They were very common in the Netherlands a few years ago.

Foaled again. Just about 100% sure that your right. I didnt have to google it. I looked where you said and about 3” up from the media first I found some kind of concoction smeared on the spike ,when I rubbed it off there was the wound and all around it was dark and I think kind of blueish. About an 1/8” punture.

Sorry being the party pooper. Be aware they do this with other colors too, often orange or green.
