I just ordered a Dendrobium Cuthbertsonii that Will arrive later this Month. My plan for this plant is that i Will keep it in a biobottle with integrated led and with ventilationholes at the top.
In the bottle i Will use gravel and moss filled with water in the bottom to create maximum humidity.
I live in sweden so the temps here is quite cold. Does anyone have any experience with growing Cuthbertsonii in a microclimate?
Having killed multiple Den. cuthbertsonii over the years (I'm an outdoor grower, it's the summer warmth that slowly did them in) I have given up. They do love humidity, pure water, and a temperature range that doesn't go above about 23 deg C (75 deg F), with cooler nights, they would prefer days that are cooler, too. So wishing you luck and success!
Have a look at some notes I took at a lecture. The speaker Alan Koch mentioned how he grows Den. cuthbertsonii. It should appear in red highlighting if you click this link: Alan Koch, Gold Country Orchids, DVOS 2017 02 16
