Dendrobium normanbyense x rhodostrictum (aka Nora Tokunaga). Move to basket? Male
Default Dendrobium normanbyense x rhodostrictum (aka Nora Tokunaga). Move to basket?

This plant is wonderful and has grown like crazy. I'll need to move it soon as it seems to be outgrowing the pot. It's grown very well in the pot so I hesitate to try something different but I've acquired this large basket. I think it would look nice in it as some of the flowers face slightly downward.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

In less than 2 years it's gone from the screen shot picture to what it is now. It's nearly always in bloom.

Good growing. It looks great.

A low, wide hanging basket is a good idea because of the hanging flowers. I wouldn't use one with large air spaces like that inside a home. Latourias don't like drying out. It would be harder to keep moist in such a large basket.

It's grown beautifully. I vote for a basket, but as ES says, it's gonna be hard inside the house to keep enough moisture retention, let alone watering.

Never change a winning team; just a bigger pot with more of the same media. The basket will dry out more and the roots will get less light.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I had forgotten about a macrame plant holder a friend made. For now I simply put the pot in that to hang. I'll repot this when it is finished blooming.
