Dendrobium anosmum (honohono)
This species has a very large geographical distribution, from Sri Lanka & Malaysia through to the Philippines. I presume that it is subject to regional variations considering the size of it's native region.
I bought several plants from Ten Shin Gardens at a show in 2022, with labels indicating that they originated in Quezon (Philippines). They produced a few flowers in 2023, at the time I noticed that one plant was probably 4N (larger flowers, thicker leaves, etc.), So, I held them back for a 2nd blooming.
This year I took a closer look, and noticed that these plants have striations in the petals & sepals. I have not seen that in the photos I have seen elsewhere. Question for our Hawaiian growers, is this noticeable in the plants grown in HI?
