This species is definitely a warm-grower, coming from low elevations of western New Guinea, and tropical islands of Indonesia. (Nearly all of the antelope-type Dendrobiums tend to be warm-growers) So it wants temperatures similar to a Phalaenopsis, but with a lot more light. Southern California? I would bring it in about a month ago. Some nights have been getting down into the 40's F and that's really too cold for this baby. The warm days we have been having no doubt at least partially compensated for the cold nights, but that's changing, there will still be a few warmer days, but it's definitely cooling off. So bring it in, much better to prevent problems than to try to cure them after you have pushed it too far.
