Default Dendrobium Somkiat Blue

Hello,
I just purchased a Dendrobium Somkiat Blue and was looking on here for tips and care. Could there be another name I can search?
Thanks Melanie

Can't find a registered name that's even close. Sometimes tags get misspelled. (I searched on parts of the name but drew a blank) Can you post a photo of the tag? Sometimes that helps to suss out the important part. And also the plant, which will give at least a hint of what type of Dendrobium it is. (It's a huge genus, a photo may at least help to figure out which section it belongs in) Lots of orchids do get sold with unregistered trade names, which of course makes it impossible to look up parentage, but from the general type we can come up with some cultural information.

Found this one on the Web... it is, indeed, an unregistered name. There was a photo of the flower - this is an "antelope" type of Dendrobium. No way of determining actual parentage, but the care of all in this group is similar. It is a warm grower, Phalaenopsis temperatures, but much more light than a Phal.

Other folks who grow the warm-growing Dens more than I do will be able to give you better information than I can with respect to medium, watering, etc. This type definitely doesn't need or want a dry rest, it needs growing conditions all year around.

What Roberta said. Warm and moist all year. Prefers higher humidity. Bright light. Fertilize regularly, less in winter. Medium doesn't matter so long as they stay moist and well aerated. Lots of people use medium bark, and large for bigger plants.
