If that's a brand new growth it won't bloom now but maybe next year. I think typically you find you need to have maybe a half dozen that size though before it will throw flowers. They're worth the wait though so don't be discouraged. Looks to be doing it's thing and doing it well so far.

It is the newest. I thought I read they usually bloomed in the winter time (for the northern hemisphere), but I definitely was excited thinking flowers might be coming at the end of this year. That’s ok, we getting there.
Late Feb-early March bloom for me and they last a couple months. Mine are just now starting to go by.
BTW- so you know what to look for, the bud spike will start out as a pronounced eye on the cane, equal to or just below and opposite the bottom most leaf on the cane.
