How long do you guys think these pods have until they split?

Probably 3 more months from the time they got that large. Maybe more, probably under a year though.
Phalaenopsis pods take 1 to 1 1/2 years to bust.

Upon looking today I noticed that two of the pods are starting to split and I can start to see a white fleshy part where they are splitting.
Here are a couple of not so good pictures. One of these days I'm going to get a camera with a macro lens.
It's evident on the very end where the flower was. Kind of hard to see.

Good eye! I think you might be right. They can probably be taken now, or you could do the coffee filter thing on one and just let it open all the way on its own.
