Den. speciosum season! Woo hoo!
First of my Den. speciosums to bloom. Others still have tight buds, waiting for some warmth and sun, I think. This one teased me for a week at the "almost open" stage (I was afraid that I'd lose the blooms altogether in the rain, they did hang on) but finally did manage it. This variety has fat, chunky pseudobulbs, that tend to grow somewhat horizontally. I'll post other plants as they finally do their thing.

Ribbons. Blue is first place, red 2nd place, white 3rd place. Typically each category of for ribbon judging gets judged separately. Nice haul!

Here's first bloom of my 'Aussie Gold'.
There are 2 more spikes coming but they're only a couple inches long at this point.
