Default Repotting Dendro oriental fantasy (nobile)

I've just bought my first dendro, and it's in a very degraded mix but putting out little nubbins or spikes from the sections under leaves. Can i still repot it without losing the spikes (or whatever those are)?

Yes now would me the best time to repot.

This is a nobile type so the new "nubins" in ochidboard speak are new growths.

how long do the side shoots have to be before you know they're going into keikis or spikes? (i've been afraid to water this thing b/c the media is so degrated, maybe i'll hold off on watering altogether until i know this one?)
--sorry for some reason it won't get rotated
