Dendrobium Pop Eye (peloric???) Male
Default Dendrobium Pop Eye (peloric???)

My den. Pop Eye had a bud bloom today. I think the plant is peloric. The sepals appear to be mimicking the lip and there are other weird characteristics.

Den. Pop Eye is a somewhat common orchid in Thailand and much of SE Asia.

It is a registered den. with RHS.

I have attaches some pictures of my plant and one picture what the 'normal' Pop Eye should look like.

Please feel free to leave your comments. Thanks.

Edit: I made a big blunder. The plant is certainly not peloric. The sepals opened today, a day later. I have added two more pics from this morning. I apologize!

I made a huge blunder. The sepals simply opened a day later. I will edit my thread with new pics.

Your question is a great question. I have no idea if it is yes or no.

Sure, it's peloric by definition if segments imitate other segments (like petals imitating lip, but there are other variations on the theme too. Like the "big foot" Phals where the lip imitates the petals).
