Default cutherbertsonii 'light pink'

these plants have so many variation of flowers of the species. This has been an evolutionary step to keep its pollinators busy making more little Cuthberts. I read an old explorers journal talking about mountain sides in new guinea covered with these and you couldnt help but step on them. ooooo nooooooooo stompin on cuthberts!!

the pinks today. dont see many of the all pinks. The Pinks are pink lipped with only the edge having the bi-color influence.

hanging out with some friends

So soft and dreamy! My orange cuthbertsonii is just about pushing two new buds out, but I'm gonna be gone till Monday and my tank will have no sitter. I just turned the fan down a bit, lowered the light, put a cup full of sphagnum in there. I'm probably more worried than my plants are anyway. Great job! Making me miss mine already

Lol, be careful and keep a refrigerator near by, in case of heat wave. I am jealous, but not jealous enough to try again seriously.

The last of them. They are aggravating to keep when its hot outside. They don't like it in the house at all.
The orchid tank I have for them stays about 75 and thats too hot. @65 they do fine. It was 40 outside the other night and took in all my plants. The cuthberts were all alone outside. They do like the cold.

The Orchid Society has already stated when I brought these in for the plant table

" Dont try these at home" They die!!!

I have given up on the pure cuthberts... I usually quit after killing 3 of something, I have lost a few more before giving up. Summer is deadly. (Even my relatively mild summers) Those hybrids with warmer-growing species, that look like cuthbertsonii on steroids, are the "cuthberts for the rest of us".

If you can keep them alive for more than a year or tow, that is fantastic!
