Well the C.K. Ai X Canniliculatum is in what you might call "semi Hydroponic." It absoultely loves it, though when I first started it, I figured I would kill it. The species Atroviolicia is not, and I wonder if I should put it into that form of culture. I am now getting a new one-- a X canniliculatum also. I am watering the little guy (aberrans) every day. I can't even think how to mount that without killing it.
So I have a lot of issues with care instructions. When I see an orchid from somewhere like New Guinea now, no matter if it is an epiphyte or not, I think automatically Hydroponic. Semi Hydro (my interpretation) is just more air-flow to the root, while keeping it near water and the constant evaporation in the root zone.

I have two that I grow in S/H that do very well. I make sure that top layer doesn't dry out though. (I grow indoors under lights.)

It's the water. Lautourias like more water and more light than I had thought before.

Well maybe some. It is mainly on their leaves, and orchids don't feed through their leaves.
I actually gave them a shower yesterday to clean it off their leaves.

Just wanted to check in and say this summer in late July and August, I was watering pretty much everyday. I grow mine outside, under a tree for shade. They have put out more growth than any other year I have had them.
