Dendrobium Nestor
Got this one a few weeks ago in bud... just fully opened two days ago. The first day they smelled extremely sweet and like perfume. However, today they do not... To my girlfriend they seem to smell like plastic (barbie dolls specifically). To me they seem to smell like burning hair. Weird change...

Oh Sue, you almost made me snort beer out my nose!
It's a beautiful flower. I love the color and that fuzzy lip is awesome! Strange about the scent. I wonder if it smells different at certain times of the day?

Beautiful blooms on this one - interesting about the fragrance change...reminds me of an unfortunate story in my youth...
So when I was little I went to my friend's house to play...I went to the washroom and while I was washing my hands, I accidentally knocked one of my friend's sister's barbies into the toilet (why she had her barbies in the bathroom, I have NO idea!) ...anyway I panicked and tried to dry it's hair with the hair blower....barbie hair does not dry like human hair...it burns. Anyway I ended up melting all the hair of the stupid little thing....needless to say my friends sister was not pleased.

Burnt hair, all day long... Almost sickening smell... can smell it outside the grow area!
I thought at first.. hmm... maybe every time I bend over to smell the flower... my hair touched the grow light? But alas, that is not so... it just plain stinks! But that's neat I guess, because I've never heard of a bad smelling dendro before.
