dendrobium crumenatum: help, please!
Hi everyone,
I received a dendrobium crumenatum today...it is in a 2 inch plastic pot, has 5 growths or canes and is rather small...can someone please tell me light and water requirements as well as when to transplant it? (I think they require alot of light and they like to dry a bit between waterings, not sure tho'). I don't see any roots coming out of bottom of pot, it may not need to be repotted yet. This is a new one for me! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...
Best Regards,
Eddie

i have a criminatum in the caribbean, it likes being warm, with lots of sun, mine gets direct sun almost all day. I water every day because it grows in 2 coconut shells and drains quickly. Mine has 5 canes loaded with flowers right now.

Eddie, grow this baby hot-warm, medium light, and it probably would do best either mounted or in a slat basket. Too bad the flowers only last for a day. It's pretty. Here's some more info.

They are better mounted, though any form of airy medium will do. Keep them moist and warm, and blooming is triggered by a period of very wet weather.

Thanks everyone for your help! How tall can these be before they will bloom? The tallest growth on mine is 5 1/2 in. It is in a 2 1/2 in. pot, I don't see any roots coming out of bottom so I think I'm safe in assuming its not quite ready to be transplanted?
Best regards,
Eddie

Eddi e can you mount it on a small piece of wood and keep it on a shelf .Then it will get enough moisture and air.
We never keep them in pots .All are mounted here .
Freely grown . It requires lots of watering.

I bet they are beautiful! I've only had my crumenatum for a few weeks, but I noticed when I received it that some of the leaves had yellow spots on them and now they are turning black. I keep it watered and in medium sun also I keep a fan blowing on it to provide humidity...do you know what is wrong with it?
