Dendrobium moniliforme 'Kouyouden 紅葉殿'

One of the most fabulous tricolored variegated form of the species.
I've increased amount of light more this year, and now the flowers have developed picotee coloring around the edges of the petals.



Of course, the main charming point is the fantastic three colored leaves. That red color is supposed to be juvenile pigment but grown under strong light, it persists even after the canes complete their growth.

That's a fantastic color. Beautiful plant.

Although it sounds like this plant is a reverse of "kouyou" (leaves changing color in the fall) .
