Default Dendrobium Wonga in bloom

Here is a couple of photos of Dendrobium Wonga currently in bloom for me.
This plant in the past has been a magnet for scale. I have used it as a sentinel plant, but Im wondering if just having it attracts scale or would the scale be there anyway and just prefer this one.

2 spikes with 7 or eight blooms. Bit stronger 'flower shop' fragrance than my previous post of Den. Jonathons Glory.

The blooms have lovely delicate markings.

It looks remarkably healthy considering the scale attacks. I'm getting into dendrobiums and this makes the list.

Thanks jcec1. I managed to get the scale under control, had to resort a scorched earth policy though, which included taking a toothbrush to it after the scale had died. Now I keep a good eye on this one.

They are quite easy to grow, haven't found a drama queen among the ones Ive got....so far.

Ive posted another in bloom Den, a Jonathons Glory. think I have another one or two Dens that have spikes, Ill post those as they bloom.

Beautiful white flowers! Does this one grow outdoors? During times of no bloom, one method could be to just pop a bit of imidacloprid (grain form) into a bottle, then mix with water ----- giving a thorough shake. Then put some into the media. It goes into the orchid, and gives the scale a hard time. A really hard time.

'Wonga' does usually grow outdoors, I brought it inside for a couple of reasons.

First.... in case any residual imidacloprid was still present in the blooms. We have several Salvia plants in the garden that bloom randomly throughout the year and are magnets for our native blue banded bees that venture out despite the colder temps we have at the moment, and I didn't want them to find these blooms.

Second...to enjoy the blooms.

It was sprayed a couple of times last year with the imidacloprid when it had scale and during that time it was kept in a bathroom.
