Spots on leaves

I brought this dendrobium blue twinkle home from the nursery last week, and these spots have appeared. Can someone please identify?

Rid ..... that's bacterial or fungal for sure. From the look of that particular leaf ----- that leaf won't make it. Maybe get some very clean sharp cutter, and carefully (watch your fingers!) cut the whole leaf off.

I'd spray the the rest of the plant with agri-fos or cleary's 3336 ---- leaves and stems, and give the plant medium light, and good growing temperature, and some gentle air-movement.

Just assuming the media is ok here.

And watch the plant like a hawk after that. If any more of that develops even after spraying ...... then look into some copper spray too.

I don’t think these products are available at my local nursery or big box store. Can I use any fungicide, or should I order one of the products you suggested online and wait a few days to treat?

Ridley ..... that's ok. The agri-fos and cleary's 3336 (thiomyl) are systematic fungicides .... they get absorbed by the plant so can get things inside the plant too. There are other fungicides ---- non-systematic, such as mancozeb, which should be readily available. Mancozeb can be handy too.

I’ve removed all of the leaves from my dendrobium, and it looks like the funk has spread to my cattleya. Have these leaves reached the point where they should be removed?

I’m trading with systemic (Infuse) and foliar spray(copper)

I think the pseudobulb damage was caused by my dog knocking it off the wall. All other pseudobulb seem healthy

Rid ---- don't remove those leaves for now. After those treatments (with your infuse) ------ maybe don't apply two sorts of treatments at similar times ----- after applying, keep the orchid in medium light conditions (no direct sunlight for now maybe), and allow gentle air-movement to keep leaves dry.

Also keep an eye out on any insects or something - in case some sucking type insect is doing some damage.

Rid - also, if you can get it for the future, also consider "Monterey Garden Phos". That would be a good one to have on hand too.

I'm having a similar problem with my blue twinkle. First it was all the leaves on one cane and then no problems for 6-8 weeks now another leaf seems to have dropped with "blisters". Did you find any of these products helpful?

What are your ambient temperatures day/night? Humidity? What kind of light is it getting? How are you watering?

Dendrobiums that don't have good conditions may develop leaf problems from poor care, and fungi may attack the dying parts of the plant later. The proper treatment is not fungicide, it's better plant care. That's why I'm asking about your conditions. Many people don't water Dendrobiums enough.

Not all fungi are susceptible to all fungicides. Unless you know which fungus is attacking your plant I wouldn't use any fungicide.

Temperature during the day are between 70 and 80 degrees F night is about 65 - 72. I'll check the humidity but the house is usually between 45 and 65 percent humidity. Watering had been between 1 and two times weekly depending on how fast the media dries and how hot the weather has been. I have 3 other small orchids in the same room and they seem to be flourishing. Although the smaller plants I got as small seedlings so they need a little more attention then mature plants.
