Default Den. Emma White - help with new growth

Hello all,

I received this Den. Emma White a couple months ago. I do not think it has grown since then...looks the same.
Then the other day, I saw this tiny tiny new growth! Which I was so thrilled about. Should I keep doing what I am doing?

Culture wise, this orchid sits on an eastern facing windowsill. A good 5-6 hours of direct bright light in the morning & my living room remains somewhat bright throughout the day. Humidity is around 50 to 60 percent. Potted in small bark bits (unsure what variety) and topped with spaghnum. I water it at at least once a week (twice if the media looks dry) and fertilize lightly every other watering. I generally use either Better Gro 20-14-13, but sometimes Maxsea 16-16-16 if I am already fertilizing my other plants that morning.

I do not think I will be able to get it to bloom (not enough light, I reckon), but I'd like to keep the canes happy.

Thank you and be safe.
Natalie

Sounds like you are one the right track! It’s the right time of year for these to be kicking into gear and growing. Sometimes they just tend to sit there in the winter and do nothing with the lower light, shorter days, and cooler temps

Thank you Sara Jean! I am hoping it'll grow well. Appreciate the response.
