Dendrobium atroviolaceum Male
Default Dendrobium atroviolaceum

It is March, and it is time for my atroviolaceum to bloom.

The flower spikes are surprisingly so heavy that the pseudobulbs become spread out due to their weight.. BTW, the speckles in the flowers are much more intense this year...possibly due to the more strong sunlight I gave it last year. This was how it looked like last year:

Easy to grow, easy to bloom, extremely long lasting flower.... and nice creamy scent too! Can't ask for more...at least for me! haha.

What a beautiful plant, and so well grown! Love how it's dripping with blooms.

Nice! I have a Den. Little Atro (formerly just atroviolaceum but it got split) that has bloomed twice a year since I got it. It also has a great chocolatey smell. Unfortunately it hasn't done as well this year (I overwatered and had to repot) so no blooms yet, maybe in a few months though.
