I lost the tag to this plant. I know it was a micro chip back crossed with a parent. I feel that is was aberrans since the spotting seems to be less than a micro chip. Also, if it was atro, I think there would be more purple inside the lip.
If you're sure it's Micro Chip back-crossed to either aberrans or normanbyense (which looks similar to atroviolaceum), your plant definitely leans more toward aberrans, making it D. Nano Chip
On the normanbyense and atroviolaceum, are they not considered atroviolaceum now? Would normanbyense be a variety?
Both Orchid Wiz and IOSPE have it separately, with the latter saying “ Originally thought to be a small variety of D atroviolaceum, it has recently been elevated to species status.”
It looks very much like Nano Chip. Soft spotting on the front, light spotting on the back, yellow labellum. I sell Nano Chip, Chocolate Chip and Micro Chip - I'm pretty confident it's Nano.
