Hi Terri, 
I didn't know that var. jenkinsii was a miniature version.  I thought that it was just another name for the aggregatum.
So how much smaller is it? Are the flowers smaller too?

They sell jenknsii at Andy's for $18, they say it has 1 1/4" flowers

Oh, about that big. 
The pseudobulbs looked to be about 2" long. They are mounted presently, and look quite healthy from the fuzzy picture.

My aggregatum is now 20 yrs old and has been divided many times. The blooming period is usually about a month with several spikes opening at different times. I grow in a sunroom and give it a complete winter rest, no water or fertilizer for about three months Nov. to Feb. See photo in my gallery if interested.  |

Enjoy while you can as the flowering period is rather short. Mine is mounted and puts out a good spray tho I haven't written it down I would say about 2 weeks or so.

Chris, it's teeny tiny. Here's a pic in a 4" slat basket. The leaves are about 1/2-3/4" long and the pbulbs are about the same. I think they've been messing with name changes again. On Jay's site aggregatum is a synonym for lindleyii, and jenkinsii is it's own species now. Both used to be named aggregatum which apparently no longer exists as a name. Clear as mud right?

Thats a great size Terri, and it looks good and healthy.
I'm afraid mine is going to be the larger variety.
I'm just learning the names of things, and it seems they're changing them as fast as I learn them. (Of course this has nothing to do with my severe case of CRS!
Shirley, what a beautiful display. Now that is what an aggregatum should look like!

My den aggregatum is with me for 12 years and has been divided two times. I can only let it bloom twice.
