Need Dendrobium ID

Hi,

I got a new Dendrobium yesterday. It has flower shoots along the steam.

Anyone knows its ID?

Nope. It's a Dendrobium NOID!

It's in the group that's informally referred to as a Nobile hybrid. Sometimes it's called the deciduous Dendrobiums, though they aren't all fully deciduous. You should be able to find lots of information online.

The premise is, summer should be bright, wet, warm, and include lots of fertilization. Winter / fall should be cooler, drier, and no food.

What "numbers" should fertilizer have? Or just a normal Orchid fertiliser is good? Thanks again!

Another question. I have North-West windows. I dont have any sun from about September to April. And then I have some sun in the morning only, where July being the most.
Will my Dendobrium do poorly or if I put it right at the windowsill be ok in those no sun months?

Probably it's a Den nobile "Spring Dream Apollon".
I have one and I feed it with an NPK 12-3-14 (more or less) with the recommended concentration.
Search for Akerne Rain Mix.
These Den like a lot of fertilizer in the growing stages, which are starting now here.
To promote more blooms, although I didn't noticed any change, some people recommend to stop fertilizing around mid August.

Do you have a lot of sun for yours? Im not lucky to have more of a north windows. Do you think it will still so ok? Sun is so low most of the year, that it doesnt reach my windows. I just have 4 good months out of the year.

I would say put it in the brightest window you have. I’ve found keeping them dry during the winter is really important to reflowering them. For mine this is more important than cold (but, our hybrids could have different requirements). If it doesn’t rebloom, it might be worth looking into supplemental lighting. These can also take temperatures down to freezing fine, depending on your situation you may want to try summering it outside.

I live in a building, on the not so sunny side I was thinking in leaving the orchid outside for summer. A little more light than from the windows. Ill try the fertilizer this summer and cold dry period in fall and hope for best.

Although yours may look like the plant Den nobile "Spring Dream Apollon" rbarata suggested, since there are many Dendrobium hybrids that look similar, rely on that information more as a cultural guide, rather than a precise ID of the hybrid.

Well, I live in a country with lots of sun and southern relatively to yours.
