Default Lippewunder (and a nameless yellow-green hybrid)

Lippewunder, arrived with the flower nearly open. The flower survived shipment in near freezing to freezing temperatures, but the shipment process might have prevented it from fully opening. It a massive flower, though, and the petals are perhaps the most fleshy/leathery I have ever seen in a Paph.

The other is a nameless hybrid from Baronesse Orchideen's Caractere line. I was attracted to the shape, which reminds me of an American hybrid, and the colour, which I am more accustomed to seeing in the maudiae type hybrids. There were other yellow greens in the batch, and while this one only had one shoot, it was my choice because it had the best flower shape IMO.

Thanks! The nameless hybrid is probably the one I consider the prettiest. The Lippewunder is almost grotesque - the jagged petal edges, the large flower size, the thick petal tissue - but sometimes, the grotesque is fascinating.

And yes, I was surprised how well the Lippewunder handled shipping from another country at temperatures around freezing!
