Default Paphs instead of moss...

I made trip to the garden centre today to get some nice live sphag moss, as I really wanted to try out the Japanese potting for Neos. They haven't had their shipment of live moss in yet, but instead of going home empty handed, these two guys jumped into my basket.

These are two different plants in one round 4" pot - the pot has two half-circle 'sleeves' in it so the two are growing completely separate. Neat idea, I think! One of the plants has the mature flowering growth and two side growths, the other has the mature flowering growth and three side growths. So I figured I would get myself some flowering NOIDs to tide me over until all of my known seedlings finally start to flower! (That's my justification!)

Both have very pretty marbled leaves, and here are the flowers:

NOID 1: (Stem about 15 inches - significantly taller than the other)

NOID 2: (Stem about 10 inches tall)

Nice ones Shannon. #2 looks like it has some sukhakulii in it.

I love the coloring of both! I am sure glad they found their way into your basket!

Those are both very pretty! I love spotted flowers, and I have been looking for a slipper orchid like that second one.

Thanks for looking, gals!! I agree Terri, I think there is some sukhakulii in there too. I know it was a long shot, but I did have a look through photos of sukhakulii hybrids to see if I could ID it.... (great site: Paphiopedilum Primary Hybrids)
but its not easy.

Becca, they're going to be in good company with my other Paphs... and hopefully they'll 'set a good example'to my other Paphs and I'll see more bloom!!

I just may need to go back again today, Gloria, and have a better look around at what they have. I seem to remember one nice tall, dark, multifloral there....

Lily, Thanks! I wish I could tell you what it was so that it would help in your search! As Terri suggested, you might want to look for things with sukhakulii in them. If you go to the link I posted above, you'll see loads of them!

Here is a photo of them both together:

Thanks again, all!

I think I just may have stumbled on an ID for the first one... looking at the photo next to my flower in real life, they are almost exactly alike. Mine has slightly less spots, but the same unlying colouring...
