Default 3 more new Paphs - divorce ready

I'm now OVER THE EDGE...my husband told me 10 orchids back "no more orchids, we have no more room"....I am now sneeking them into the house...the paphs are small so I didn't think he'd notice...so far so good....until vacation time of course when I may have to take them to the cottage with us... ..

They are: Paph delenatii vietnamese sib.
Paph wardii
Paph Greyi (two of them, don't ask!)

Oh did I mention I bought a Den. Hisako Haraguchi last week?

Haha....we all sneak our 'chids into the house...my hubby doesn't' really notice unless I tell him, and I usually do a week or so later...lol....but he doesnt' tell me I can't....he just reminds me that I hate how long it takes to water my orchids every weekend....about 3 hours...but of course I use that time to fuss over them as well. I was bad and just purchased two Neofinetia falcate off of ebay and he just said it was my money and I could do what I wanted with it...lol.....so I guess what I am trying to say is....we understand your addiction...lol.

I understand that teetering on the edge feeling Helen. I feel lucky that my DH has taken a rather keen interest in my new hobby. I get a big chuckle when I catch him checking the chids out when he thinks I'm not looking. He even came to me one day and told me in a very concerned voice that my spiking Epidendrum was getting very close to touching the upper shelf, and maybe I should move it. He also keeps mentioning greenhouses. He even took a picture of one that some friends of ours bought. It's only 6'X6', and I think it would be too hard to regulate the temps in such a small space. But hey, at least he's thinking about it!

Terri, wow, sounds like your hubby is developing a keen interest! lucky you! Mind you, my hubby did mention that IF WE EVER MOVE, he will ensure I have a 'proper' place for my orchids on second thought what EXACTLY did he mean by that!

Hi Helen,
Hmmmm, sneaking them into the house, huh? I didn't know there was any other way.
I've been rearranging orchids for a few days now and when my hubby asked me where this one is or why that one is in a different spot, I just say "Moving them around so we can appreciate them more." (honestly, does that make any sense?) I am, however, getting ready for an orchid purchase next Wednesday to fix my obvious addiction/hobby....so I have to confuse him into thinking I've had them all along, just in another spot!
Yes, I've stooped to a new low! Seriously, I need to get an orchid soon. Next Wed. is my first free day to go "shopping!" This crazy weather has eaten into every free day I've had. I have 81 orchids, and that's not enough??????? It's pathetic.
So I do understand your situation...... Trust me!
I'm so pumped to go to this orchid greenhouse and walk around and visit for a couple hours and see who ends up owning me.

Kiki! You are TOO funny
Wow 81...I'm only at 21 but one is in the middle of dying on me ( a crazy oncidium ampliatum....a pain since the beginning)...so 20....they say once you get 20...there's no turning back! Full speed ahead...Soon you'll need a greenhouse! Thanks for sharing your story with me! You've made me feel better! Have a ton of fun on your 'chid shopping experience...

I don't sneak. . .they just "show up" at work.

He says, "Wow, another box of orchids?" And as I keep pulling one after another out of the box, "How many did you order?" And my response, same as last time, "Quite a few!" lol

Luckily, he loves it that I love them and take such good care of them. . .he thinks they're beeeeutiful.

For the record, I have another box coming from Oak Hill Gardens. heh heh hehe

P.S. I really want a new Neofintia and want to try the Japansese style of potting. I already have one but it's already attached to it's cork bark. . .so I need another one. It will not be one of those super expensive, celebrity varieties. It will have to be a little "$30 cheapy".

Awww, surely your hubby won't divorce you because of your orchids.
Maybe try a barter system? Treat him to something special for each new plant you buy? You never know..it could get interesting..rofl

LOL Helen, hopefully the "proper place" for your chids is not sitting in the driveway as the moving van pulls away from the house!

Kiki whatcha gonna buy? Got anything special that's been haunting your dreams? Do tell! I haven't counted my charges in awhile. I know it's no where near 80. Closing in on 40 real fast though!

Gwen it's amazing how easy the internet makes ordering anything. All you have to do is click the button and it appears on your doorstep 5 days later. Tell me about the Japanese potting. I've not heard of that before.
