Default Bi-floral Paph. spicerianum development

Last month I noticed that a scape on one of my Paph. spicerianum divisions had a second bud developing. This division has three spikes but only one is bi-floral. This is the first time that any of the divisions of this plant have done this. Hopefully it will develop the rest of the way before the first one drops.

This should be one of easier Paphs to grow and bloom. What are your growing conditions and how large is the plant?

From what I read, it needs calcium supplement if the water in your area is very soft. In nature it grows near limestone cliffs. I read some growers add egg shells or oyster shells to the mix.
I grow mine in very hard L.A. tap water, and it absolutely loves it. My other paphs suffer but this one loves the hard water. It is now putting out two separate spikes on two new growths.

I didn't know that this orchid can produce multi-flower spikes, how very exciting. Congratulations!!!

Andrew
