Paph ang-thong x paph niveum Male
Default Paph ang-thong x paph niveum

the full tag is: (path ang-thong var. alba 'in charm' x paph niveum var 'panthana)' x sib

This guy I found at one of my trader joe's (grocery chain on west coast).

I love brachypetalum types so I jumped for it, came with a bloom and bloomed a few months later on a new growth!

Paphs aren't my forte whatsoever so not sure about culture practice in general sometimes... but it came potted in small bark and sphag, I left it as as because I was a afraid to mess around with it too much... but know some of these brachy's need higher ph mix? should I repot when it's finished blooming in something else? what? and would fall be a bad time to repot? has a new growth forming as well...

1. This thread should be in Paphipedilum forum. Perhaps one of the administrators will move it.

2. Paph ang thong is a variety of Paph godefroyae.

3. Paph godefroyae x niveum = Paph Greyi

Brachys are the only group of Paphs that should just dry out between waterings. The mix is OK; depending upon how much you water, consider a clay pot to allow it to dry out a little faster.

You can repot Paphs any time of the year, even when in bud or bloom. Light/shade similar to Phalaenopsis.

Thanks guys... and thanks to you Kim for culture info and taxon notes... glad they like to dry out, because that's what's been happening... they (have more than one) do get more light than phal light... between phal and catts... if they can handle less, maybe I'll put in a shadier location, could put other things more in need of higher light at that spot.

sorry for misplacing this... yes if it can be moved moderator, that would be great, not sure how/why i put it in this group...

Wow, I wish my Trader Joe's carried these types of orchids. Very nice. I can't offer advice though.
