Paph Delrosi (or so says the label)
Another one of my recent bloomers; Paph Delrosi. I bought this plant a couple years ago, as a young non blooming size plant. This year it's finally bloomed, and though it's a nice bloom, I'm quite disappointed. While it more or less has the color and fuzziness of a Delrosi, the form is completely wrong. It's so wrong that I'm wondering if this really is Paph Delrosi. The pouch is supposed to be smaller and rounder, and the lateral sepals should be more pointed and horizontal, and the dorsal sepal should be more pointy as well. I'm also suspicious that it may be virused, based on the steaking. But that's my fault, I suspect that I have a virus in most of my collection.
I think I'm going to email the grower and get his opinion on it... He still has it (blooming size now, and this is what it should look like: Paph Delrosi, Orchideeën-shop

Wonderful to finally get a bloom, but I can see why you would be disappointed as it doesn't look like the one you ordered. The color is still very nice and maybe it will get better with time.

It still is very nice, and different. But I have to say I have never seen one streaked like that. the veined netting in the picture of the one online is more typical of most Paphs that I have seen.
No harm asking the vendor what they think. And you could likely test it for virus since you work with plants in your job if I remember correctly.

My first thought was, whoa, Delrosi? No way.
It looks like it has a callosum-shaped dorsal.
For what it's worth, I think it's really pretty, and I love the streaks of color.

No way. No Roth in that plant at all. It looks to me to be a complex bulldog x vini Maudiae or x delenatii.

Definitely not Delrosi, no trace of rothschildianum there. Going out on a limb, it resembles Paph Atlantinet, which brings callosum and delenatii together with an old style complex hybrid. I've even seen similar streaking. Finding a picture to compare won't be easy though. Unless the grower can identify it...

If my plant wasn't the only wrongly identified one in the lot, then hopefully other people complained before me and the grower then got a correct ID from his supplier. But I have to say that your guess looks pretty darn close!
I'll let you know what the grower says. But I'm so disappointed... 3.5 years of eager anticipation, and it's the wrong plant. And I have to say that I don't particularly like this style of Paph.

There's probably the standard disclaimer on the website about a seedling population not guaranteed to all look the same, but good luck.
Maybe you'll get more attention if you use your new title😄🍻🌈.
Congrats by the way. A great achievement.

I think it is very beautiful, even if it isn't what it was supposed to be. Did I miss your announcement? I recall you were getting ready to defend...

The seedling disclaimer does not apply here. It is definitely not a Delrosi.
Of course, the seller might claim that over the 3.5 years the buyer must have switched labels. However, I would fight them on the issue if it was me.
