Paph villosum from Ebay - BIG Surprise = True alba
An eagle eyed friend noticed that the photos of a listed seedling in bud showed no signs of pigment, neither on the leaf base nor on the leaf that covers the bud. Even though the listed parents (Candor XL x Marriott Starburst) are not known for carrying alba genes, I decided to buy the plant.
It arrived with the bud just starting to open, and the flower has no pigment. I can't tell exactly which variety this is yet, as the flower is still opening. But, for reference, the alba that was listed by a seller in Thailand had either $600 or $700 BIN price, so I scored BIG on this transaction.
Photo to follow once the flower is fully open.
