Paph. Gloria Naugle in sheath at last
I haven't taken a photo of it yet and I hope this post doesn't jinx it. My Gloria Naugle (six growth plant) is finally in sheath on one growth, with another showing a good possibility. I'll post pics when I'm sure it's progressing and not going to blast.

This is the first time I have been able to coax this plant to bloom so I can't tell you what color it will be. Gloria Naugles are generally predominately dark maroon with either a white or green background.
Congratulations on your Phal.

Congrats! and hopefully it will bloom and hopefully it will be good!
I have a bunch of these parvi x roth type of plants, but so far, Gloria Naugle has been the worst.
At least the others would grow like weed and occasionally fool me with fake spikes, but not GN.
They are so slow growing that I forget that they are live plants sometimes. lol
Quite frustrating!
I think about pitching them many times to say the least. hahaha

One thing I have noticed about the two growths in sheath is the number of leaves/growth. As near as I can tell one has 10 and the other has 11. I don't recall any other Paph. that I've ever had with this number of leaves per growth. Also, both exhibit heavy anthocyanin pigmentation streaking the last leaf to emerge. I don't know if this is usual for Gloria Naugle or if it's just peculiar to my plant. The sheaths are expanding but the stems have not started to elongate yet.

True, these roth x parvi hybrids tend to make lots of leaves unlike other paphs which much less per growth.
My GN, one has a single growth with a dozen of leaves. No signs of spiking ever.
The other one has two growths, each with about 7 leaves. Nothing going on there, either.
My Delrosi are all loaded with tons of leaves, side fans, and fake sheaths (those leaves with pigmentation streaking you mention and even some hairs lol). Two of my Pink Sky are doing the same, growing and adding new fans, but for the first time, one is showing the fake sheath, or maybe it might be the real deal!
One of my Dollgoldi had a sheath, definiatley not a leaf, but the thing stopped doing anything since last summer. It is so strange because I have never had anything that just sits there for this long without doing anything.
My one and only Harold Koopowitz just grows new leaves. I'm rather worried because the largest plant of any of these crosses I've seen were HK.
It better bloom in my life time. lol
