Paph. Kemp Tower Clonal Name Suggestions?
My Kemp Tower cross was awarded an AM/AOS this weekend. I need to give the Chairman a clonal name. Any suggestions?

Love the red cascading petals. Maybe something like "pheonix" or "bleeding heart"
I'd name it something personal to yourself. Have fun!

Wow! Congrats! Sorry, no thoughts on a name but I agree, something that means something to you.

If you are actively pursuing AOS awards, you should select several clonal names.
I regularly buy multiple plants, so I can select the best for exhibit & breeding purposes. I give any plant above average, or with a an unusual feature I want to use in breeding, a clonal name.
#1 The best of the best gets my top clonal name (= my wife's middle name).
#2 The second best/awardable quality gets my secondary choice (= town where I live).
#3 If there are more plants, which are worth holding on to, I tag the label with something to remind me of that quality.
You can also select clonal names, which are more specific to the flower in question. In this case, you could consider names along these lines:
'Corkscrew'
'Twister'
'Red Twist'
'Tornado' (playing on the twisting petals)
'Tornado Alley'
Or, if you have a favorite band, perhaps some of their song names would be suitable as clonal names?

I'm curious to know what name you select.
I would choose some theme to stick with. Some growers give all their awarded plants the same clonal name.
Whatever you decide, many congratulations on your Award of Merit!

Thank you all for the kind words and advice. I'm thinking 'Twist of Fate'. What do you think of that?
