Paphiopedilum leucochilum
(Rolfe) Fowlie, Orchid Digest 39: 110 (1975).
Distribuzione: endemic of the W Thailand Peninsula

Many consider it a variant of Paphiopedilum godefroyae but Kew considers two distinct species ... mah!

Paphiopedilum..Venus' slipper from ancient Greek Paphia=another name of Aphrodite and pedilon = slipper
leucochilum from ancient Greek combined with latin = white-lipped

Very nice leucochilum. I particularly like the fact that the spotting on both the dorsal and petals is very distinct. The dorsal color on mine is all run together and just looks kind of muddy.
