New leaf or a flower spike on this hybrid?
Default New leaf or a flower spike on this hybrid?

Hi everyone,
I bought this orchid from a local orchid grower Sylva's Orchids right after new year as a tiny sidling. So far it produced a small leaf, and now it has another growth but I am not sure if its a leaf. It is really hairy, not at all like when the new leaf showed up, it did not have long hair like this. Yet the shape of it is very leaf-like.
I am very excited about this since I have no idea what this hybrid will look like. The tag says Vietnamese Green eyes x Delanatii Full Moon
Can I assume it will have a pink lip and white petals plus two green eyes? I don't know.

That is actually a flower bud emerging.

I love leaves on Ho Chi Minh.
I wish the flower lasted longer. oh, well...

Pink pouch yes, but the petals will be pink of different intensity, although white is a possibility.

The idea of creating this hybrid was to have a good shape of delenatii with a deeper color of vietnamense, which often has droopy or otherwise ugly petals.

You're welcome! The foliage looks great by the way!

I really like delenatii and delenatii hybrids. I have a delenatii, and a Ho Chi Minh, but my HCM isn't in spike.

If you're ever uncertain about a name, you're welcome to ask on here, but you can also search on google. Most of the popular hybrids will pop up.
In this case, type delenatii x vietnamense into the search bar, and Paphiopedilum Ho Chi Minh pops up.

I have about five HCM, but they are all babies, still, beautiful little leaves to look at!
I hope at least one of them turn out to my liking.

Sorry for asking you here, do you know the clone names of the parents?
I have this one: Paph. delenatii 'Miss Saigon' x Paph. vietnamense 'Tokyo', with the pod parent being delenatii.

can't remember, but those are well known clones.
I have other delenatii hybrids with Miss Saigon.
I don't think I have anything with viet. Tokyo.
